When we shipped the remote MCP server, you connected by pasting https://mcp.currents.dev/mcp into your client by hand. Now Currents has its own listing as a Claude plugin and in the ChatGPT/Codex plugin directory, so you can connect from there instead.

Claude

Open Currents in the Claude, or search for Currents under Customize → Connectors. Click Connect to Claude and sign in. It works on every plan, including Free.

  • One connection for every Claude app: the connector follows your Claude account into Claude Desktop, Claude.ai, the mobile app, Cowork and Claude Code
  • Claude Code: loads the connector only when you sign in to Claude Code with a Claude.ai account. Otherwise, add the server with claude mcp add
  • Team and Enterprise: an Owner clicks Connect for your team. Then each member connects with their own Currents account

ChatGPT and Codex

ChatGPT and Codex share one plugin directory, so one Currents plugin covers both.

  • ChatGPT: open Plugins, search for Currents and install it
  • Codex CLI: run codex, then enter /plugins
  • Codex app and ChatGPT desktop app: open the Plugins tab

The plugin brings three skills: fix-failing-tests, collect-evidence and browser-evidence. Your agent knows those workflows without you spelling them out.

The Codex IDE extension does not support plugins. If you use it, add the server with codex mcp add.

What stays the same

  • Same server: both listings use the hosted MCP server at https://mcp.currents.dev/mcp and the same OAuth sign-in
  • Acts as you: you sign in as yourself, pick the organization and approve the permissions. Your Currents role sets what the agent can do
  • No access until you sign in: adding Currents for a team gives nobody access to Currents data until each person signs in
  • Old connections keep working: a connection you added by URL still works. To move to the directory listing, remove the old one first, or you end up with two Currents connections
  • Easy to revoke: remove a connection under Account → Connected Applications

Once you're connected, ask:

What broke in the last failed run of <project> on main? Open a Jira issue for it.
